David Neary and Steve Hilleshiem formed WestLand Construction in 1990 as a general contracting firm specializing in commercial interiors. At that time, they were the only employees of the company.

The first year, WestLand contracted for less than $350,000 in total sales. Shortly after WestLand's inception, the real estate and construction market experienced a substantial downfall. While many companies struggled to stay in business, WestLand continued to grow.

This year WestLand expects to complete close to $10 million in total sales and retains fifty employees.
